Reuben Dennis Day

Reuben Dennis Day

From Steven Kutterer:

Dennis was a friend in high school an in the Navy and I thought I should share this so it could be posted on the website. Reuben "Dennis" Day Aug. 16, 1948 - Dec. 17, 2011 Reuben "Dennis" Day passed away on Dec. 17, 2011 after a short illness. He was born in Idaho, but lived the last 36 years of his life in Stockton. Dennis grew up and went to high school in Pocatello, Idaho where he loved playing baseball on the high school team. He was an avid skier, fisherman, hunter, outdoorsman and street rod racer. In 1969, while on active duty in the US Navy, Dennis suffered a broken neck; the result was spending the remainder of his life as a quadriplegic. Despite this, he graduated from Delta College, was active in his church and had a full life. He became a great fisherman and member of the California Striped Bass Association, Stockton Chapter, where he was Secretary for 14 years. Dennis had many friends who will keenly miss him. He was often heard to say, "It's not the size of the man in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the man." Dennis was the son of Reuben and Marie Bolingbroke Day of Pocatello, Idaho. He is survived by his loving wife Mary Day, their grown children Paige and Ian.
